Congratulations, WarpStream on your acquisition by Confluent.
Combining Confluent’s resources with WarpStream’s cloud native data streaming platform will create a data streaming offering for everyone – on prem and in the public and private clouds.
WarpStream is the evolution of Apache Kafka, and its platform was purpose built for modern cloud architecture from the ground up. In just over a year since it was founded, the team has moved at warp speed – transforming the streaming data landscape for developers and helping companies like Grafana Labs, Zomato, ShareChat, Character.ai, and PostHog stream data in the most affordable and accessible way.
It’s not every day that a startup finds product market fit as instantly as WarpStream. This is a testament to co-founders Richard Artoul and Ryan Worl, who are the epitome of cloud native technologists and founders. An acquisition by the leader in the data streaming space is a reflection of the team’s deep understanding of how developers want to use the cloud, and relentlessness in their focus on solving customer pains.
As a board member, it’s been a pleasure to work closely with Richie and Ryan, and the rest of the WarpStream team. The team is working on an ambitious roadmap, and we are excited to see them continue to build WarpStream as part of Confluent.
