We are excited to announce Greylock’s investment and partnership with Netic, a company pioneering the autonomous AI revenue engine for the essential services economy that keeps America running. Greylock led Netic’s seed round and increased ownership in the company’s oversubscribed Series A.
Founded by Melisa Tokmak, who previously led Scale AI’s enterprise and government businesses, Netic brings full execution AI to service industries. By combining real-time AI agents with automated marketing campaigns, Netic captures every potential lead across calls, texts, online widgets, and third party channels, and proactively uncovers new prioritized opportunities to dramatically boost revenue.
While the AI wave has engaged across software and creative industries, essential services like HVAC, plumbing, and roofing have been left behind. These industries form the backbone of the economy, yet they operate on outdated tools, overwhelmed call centers and disconnected systems. When demand spikes, customer calls go unanswered. When it slows, valued technicians sit idle. It’s a business predicament that leaks opportunity at both ends, and represents the perfect connection for AI.
When we first met Melisa, it was clear that she’s a force of nature. Melisa grew up in Turkey in a small village, and then propelled with personal sacrifice to boarding schools in Turkey and India, enroute to landing at Stanford. After completing her CS degree, she was a standout performer with strong followings at Instagram, Facebook, and Scale AI. When we met Melisa was already a deep AI native, and with a strong passion and vision for transforming essential services industries. Since founding, Melisa has attracted and assembled an exceptional early team and rapidly progressed with a strong combination of customer centricity and innovation.
The Netic team has built a leading offering that combines internal customer data with external signals — including weather patterns, equipment age and seasonal demand — to proactively identify service opportunities and act on them for customers. It adapts to each business’s workflows, policies, and brand, and gets smarter with every interaction. In a space where timing, conversion, and utilization directly impact margin, the bespoke and real-time focus based on proprietary data delivers high impact results.
In just a few months, Netic has seen strong traction. The company has already autonomously booked over 50,000 jobs in the home services sector, demonstrating the platform’s ability to scale operations and drive revenue. Today, Netic is working with America’s largest industry leaders, including Hoffmann Brothers, Heartland Home Services, and Paschal Air, Plumbing & Electric, and is announcing a first-of-its-kind partnership with Nexstar Network to combine Netic with Nexstar’s decades long expertise for Nexstar members.
At Greylock, we are focused on being the first partner to founders. We’re privileged to back Melisa and the Netic team on the important mission to build the industry’s leading AI that executes for America’s essential industries.
