Manuel leads Greylock’s technology team which supports on all strategic and operational IT for the firm.

Manuel joined Greylock in 2016 and serves as Vice President of Technology. He provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative, robust, and secure information technology environment throughout the firm. In addition, he provides technology advisory to our portfolio companies ranging from IT investment strategies, technology stack advice, cybersecurity, product feedback, and introduction to trusted IT resources.

Prior to joining Greylock, Manuel spent 17 years building a reputation as a builder and leader of IT organizations at a number of Silicon Valley startups. He was most recently Director of IT at Thumbtack and was a member of the extended leadership team, working to scale both technology and operations. In similar Director roles at Lookout and Vontu (sold to Symantec in 2007 for $350m), Manuel joined these companies as one of the first 20 employees and was integral in building and scaling people-centric IT operations at these high growth start-ups.

Manuel is also on the operating committee for VCPEIT, a peer support and networking group comprised of IT executives from venture capital, private equity, and other alternative asset firms. He is also an active member of ITKit.io, a community designed to foster the Modern IT community, by participating as a panelist and leading podcast interviews with various IT leaders.

Manuel earned his Bachelor of Science Information Systems from the University of San Francisco. He and his wife are raising their two sons in San Mateo, CA.
